Life: The (Incomplete) Prologue

I have been wanting to do an article like this for awhile now but have not had time. There seems little point when I can point you to this fine article on the topic. Life exists exactly because of the 2nd law of thermodynamics! Think that one through.

If the universe we know is merely the disipation of energy in a medium, it only makes sense that matter would organize to disipate it as efficiently as is reasonably possible. Life is one of those reasonably possible methods.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to share my article! I am glad to hear it resonated with you. It truly is a mind-blowing idea isn’t it? Such a simple, yet brilliant theory. I hope your followers find it just as fascinating.

    • I don’t think that it will become popular among the masses. The idea that we exist as nothing more than an expression of efficiently dissipating the energy of the big bang. An inevitable calculation in the larger formula, a predictable yet fleeting existence without design or purpose, simply an efficient method of wasting energy. It, in fact, does not blow my mind. Rather, it makes mind-numbing sense. One wonders what exactly is the most moral way to waste energy?

      • I suppose that is all fair! It certainly wouldn’t be the only example of a scientific concept as a cause for antipathy among the masses, for what it may say about life. To me, it’s all about how you choose to look at the bigger picture. Indeed, I wonder! Here’s hoping we humans improve at that as time goes on.
