On Love The Sinner But Hate The Sin…

<rant begins here>

I have heard this once too often: god loves the sinner but hates the sin. Christians keep saying that they don’t hate the sinner (homosexuals most often) but they hate the sin. Even American politicians have used this line of argument.

Well, their god isn’t going to let them into heaven is he? No, he wants them stoned to death before they can repent.

Leviticus: 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Clearly then, the god of Abraham does not love homosexuals and has no compassion for them. To say that he does is a blatant lie. How do you feel when you KNOW that someone is lying to your face? Yeah, me too but that is illegal and in most cases not morally good.

In fact, all of Leviticus 20 is fairly sickening.

Now, if the god of Abraham is perfect and all his creations less so and even he cannot love the sinner, what exactly do you think those smiling, lying Christians believe? There is no way that they can love the sinner for they cannot best their own god… they are imperfect.

I would be most pleased if any of my readers would, when confronted by the ‘love the sinner, hate the sin’ epithet, turn and accuse them of lying to their face. The scripture passage Leviticus 20:13 demands they kill homosexuals so their egregious little lie is also a sin against their god.

To the believers of the god of Abraham: You don’t love the sinner, you never have and never will. Your petty, insidious, small minded thinking makes me sick. I will not forgive you for it. Rot in your hell!

Oh, dear Christian believer. The god of Abraham does not love you either for he will only show compassion on you if you are willing to accept abject slavery and adore him forever without fail. If you fail, he’ll kick you out. Just ask Lucifer. If fail to show enough adoration and appropriate slave manners you won’t even get into heaven. If you are not near perfect in your adoration of him you’ll burn forever. He does not love you and has no  compassion for you. He never has and never will. If you think you’re going to heaven, you’ve sold your soul to the one being who would torture you forever, for only the god of Abraham and his Jesus doppleganger has promised this.

Let me translate the bible for you: love me exactly like I tell you to and if you screw up any of the many contradictory rules I’ve given you then I will burn you in hell for eternity.

Anything past that is either a contradictory law or some parable of what happens if you break one of those laws. The god of Abraham does not love any human.

Haha yeah, loving them and stoning them to death are a wee bit contradictory.

    • To me it says their god doesn’t love them either. A much deeper perspective than simply what is viewed as a sin. Every time that a believer uses that canard we should remind them that it means their god doesn’t love them either.

The funny thing is that the admonitions against (male) homosexuality and masturbation and other “deviant” sexual conduct, stems from the ancient Hebrew belief that the semen is in fact the entire child (perfectly sensible thing to believe if you have no knowledge of egg cells). To them women were literally incubators for semen. It also means that any man who performs any sexual act that will not potentially lead to a baby, is committing infanticide. That’s why they were against homosexuality.

Off course, when one is supposed to take over 2000 years old scripture as literal and unvarying truth, all that doesn’t matter, despite us now knowing that children are formed not just from the semen but also from a female egg cell.

Also funny ho the language of this passage in Leviticus doesn’t actually speak against homosexuality. As a homo I can say that I will NEVER lay with a women like I would with a man. So there. It’s only bisexuals who are in trouble with Leviticus, but who really cares about that scripture anyways? 😛

    • Do you have a reference for that, J Agathokles? It sounds quite plausible to me, and I’d like to quote it.

I don’t know exactly were I found that information, but I did find this on wikipedia:

“But why all these precautions? — Because otherwise one might emit semen in vain, and R. Johanan stated: Whosoever emits semen in vain deserves death, for it is said in Scripture.”
—Babylon Talmud, Tractate Niddah, p. 13a

        • Very interesting. Now by that rule we’re all fucked!

    • That made me laugh! Thanks. It is quite interesting that you point out that only bisexuals are in trouble. That’s hilarious!

  1. Well, I suppose you are looking for an objective love, a love unconditioned by action. That ,of course is the farthest thing from any monotheistic religion. or from any human capability as well. We all love someone based on that persons attributes or actions. You may say, “what of the child, I love my child unconditionally,’ well, the person is your CHILD, your blood, the closest thing to your self in existence: his blood is his attribute.
When the Christian raves about how he loves the sinner, in accordance with the tenets which the Jesus myth with procured: that he died for us damned sinners, he is merely echoing a sentiment which he does not actually experience. A similar pantomime can be seen when these deluded ones go to their house of worship, and ‘become inundated with the Holy Ghost’, so much so that even the most conservative among them begins to sound like Lil’ Wayne.
The entire edifice of the Christian paradigm is debased, and in order to realize why one has to dig to the gnarled roots of this behemoth tree. The Christian believes that the only real element of a person is their soul, or, in less numinous terms, their consciousness. They also hold firm to the belief that this consciousness has the capability to act freely. It is this fallacious concept which the Christian loves, and which he will adamantly say his Jesus loves. They uphold a dualism which allows them to say that, while god sends the homosexual to hell for his acts, god still loves this man’s soul, and this god was only acquiescing to the free choice of the homosexual to go to hell. The absurdity of all this is ridiculous, and you are right in seeing that the Christian, by projecting his love upon an illusion, in fact loves no one unless they conform.

(Sorry, by the way, for the long and meandering post)

    • Oh, very good comment. Thanks. No need to apologize. Your final statement, does invalidate Christianity. When your love and compassion is reserved for only those that conform, well, it isn’t love it’s the other side of a bigotry coin.
